Devotional
‘Smell the roses’ is an idiom that means to relax; to take time out of one's busy schedule to enjoy or appreciate the beauty of life.
In the rush of daily life, it is easy to overlook the simple joys around us. Take time to “smell the roses” and appreciate God’s blessings. Like Corrie ten Boom, who found joy and gratitude even in the midst of suffering during World War II, you can find beauty in the small things.
Psalm 118:24 encourages us to rejoice in each day as a gift from God. Whether it’s the laughter of friends, the beauty of nature, or a quiet moment of peace; it may even be in your studies, or hustling and bustling of life;
PAUSE! take time to notice and be thankful for these blessings. Embracing and appreciating these moments, bring joy and gratitude into your life. Do this daily.
Here are a few reflective questions:
- What simple joys can I appreciate today?
- How can I take a moment to be thankful for God’s blessings?
Let us pray:
Dear Lord, today, I just want to thank you for every little thing that I usually take for granted. Thank you so much for being mindful of me. Amen!
Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them.
"I am here to appreciate the simple joys and blessings around me on a daily basis..
Make today a day of appreciation and observe your mood. You will be thankful. I’ll see you tomorrow.
