07-OCTOBER-2024 - BUILT TO LAST

THE MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE:  BUILT TO LAST

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is: Daniel 1:8 (NIV)

But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.

 Devotional:

Change is inevitable! Our roles will change, how we deploy our talents will evolve or out rightly change, so there is a need for a stable core. Daniel and his three friends were captives in Babylon. Their location had changed, their status as royalty had changed, and it's plausible to say that a lot had changed even in their personal and family circumstance, but they had a stable core that set them apart in their time.

Daniel’s remarkable faith and excellence in service stood him out so much, he served in four regimes. He couldn’t be replaced. His story shows the importance of defining our values and sticking with them and the resilience that is required to win no matter where we find ourselves.

Long before we are faced with the need to make a choice, we must make up our minds to stand for God, and to be resilient- to see our life’s experiences as learning curves and by our stance, declare to the world that WE ARE BUILT TO LAST!!

Here are a few reflective questions:

-          What are my values?

-          Since values determine what I am willing to allow, what are my deal breakers in my current life experience?

LET US PRAY:

Dear God, I ask for your grace to uphold my values and honor you at all times, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I know what I have
  • I am a reference for excellence
  • I am resilient
  • I am built to last

Do have a fulfilling day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!
