TITLE: CREATING MY INNER CIRCLE

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Proverbs 13:20 (NIV)

Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.

Devotional:
Your inner circle—the people closest to you—plays a significant role in shaping your life. These relationships influence your mindset, decisions, and overall well-being. Choosing who belongs in your inner circle requires intentionality and wisdom. It’s not about having a large group of friends but surrounding yourself with those who support, inspire, and challenge you to become the best version of yourself.

Consider Jesus’ example: while He taught and interacted with many, He had an inner circle of twelve disciples, and even within that group, He was particularly close to Peter, James, and John. These relationships were built on trust, shared purpose, and mutual growth. Jesus’ inner circle walked with Him through key moments of His ministry, providing support and companionship.

Creating your inner circle means prioritizing relationships with people who share your values, encourage your dreams, and hold you accountable. These are the friends who will celebrate your victories, help you through struggles, and challenge you to stay true to your purpose.

Here are a few reflective questions:

1. Who in my life consistently supports and inspires me?
2. Do my closest relationships align with my values and goals?
3. Are there friendships I need to invest in more deeply or re-evaluate?

Let Us Pray:
Lord, help me to choose wisely the people I allow into my inner circle. Surround me with those who uplift, encourage, and challenge me to grow closer to You. Teach me to be a friend who also inspires and strengthens others. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

• I intentionally create an inner circle of friends who are  trustworthy and supportive.
• I nurture relationships that align with my values and purpose
• I grow alongside those who encourage my best self.
