TITLE: PURPOSE AND INTENTIONALITY?
The bible verse for today’s devotional is: 1 Corinthians 9:24 (NIV)
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
Devotional:
Purpose and intentionality are closely related concepts that guide our actions and shape our lives. While purpose provides the overarching “why” behind our existence, intentionality is the conscious effort we put into aligning our actions with that purpose.
In today’s bible text Apostle Paul reminds the believers in Corinthians 9:24-27 that he runs to win in every step, and not just shadowboxing. For this reason, he disciplines his body like an athlete, training it to do what it should, so that he wouldn’t be disqualified after preaching to others.
Intentionality is about being mindful and deliberate in your actions. It’s about choosing to live with purpose rather than simply going through the motions.
Intentionality involves setting clear goals and taking concrete steps to achieve them. It’s about focusing your energy and resources on what truly matters.
Intentionality is not a one-time event, but rather a continuous process of self-reflection and improvement. It’s about constantly evaluating your actions and making adjustments as needed.
Here are a few reflective questions;
- How can I align my actions with my purpose? What steps can I take to live a more purpose-driven life?
- What practices can I incorporate into my daily routine to increase my intentionality
Let us Pray:
Thank you Lord for your word to me today. I receive grace to intentionally align my actions, energy, efforts with your purpose for my life. Amen
