15-MARCH-2025 - SENSE OF SELF AND PERSONAL GROWTH

THE MAIN THEME: ACHIEVING PERSONAL GROWTH

TITLE: SENSE OF SELF AND PERSONAL GROWTH

The quote for today’s devotional is: "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment."

– Ralph Waldo Emerson

Devotional:
Imagine a sculptor working on a block of marble. With each chisel, they remove unnecessary pieces, revealing the masterpiece within. Personal growth is like discovering who you are by peeling away self-doubt, societal pressures, and fear.

Having a strong sense of self means knowing who you are, what you stand for, and where you're headed. It’s about recognising your values, strengths, and passions rather than allowing the world to define you. People who lack self-awareness often feel lost, unsure of their decisions, and easily swayed by external influences. But when you know yourself deeply, you make choices that align with your purpose and values, leading to a more fulfilling life.

Think of Nelson Mandela. Despite years of imprisonment, he never lost his sense of self. He remained committed to justice, peace, and equality. His deep understanding of his purpose gave him the resilience to lead South Africa toward freedom. His story teaches us that personal growth starts with a strong foundation—knowing who you are.

When you embrace your true self, personal growth becomes intentional. Stop comparing yourself to others, focus on self-improvement, and confidently navigate life’s challenges.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What values and principles define who I am?
  2. In what areas of life do I feel most authentic?
  3. Are there external influences that make me doubt yourself?
  4. How can I strengthen my self-awareness and personal growth?

Let us pray:
"Dear Lord, help me to understand and embrace who I am. Give me clarity to see my strengths, wisdom to grow through my challenges, and courage to stay true to myself. May my personal growth reflect the purpose You have for me. Amen."

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  • I am confident in who I am.
  • I embrace growth as a journey, not a destination.
  • My values and beliefs guide my choices.
  • I am constantly evolving into my best self.

Take time to reflect, learn, and grow into the person you’re meant to be. See you tomorrow!
