TITLE: HOW EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT CAN FUEL PERSONAL GROWTH

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Ephesians 5:15-17 (NIV)

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”

DEVOTIONAL

The bible encourages us to align our time with God’s purpose.  God admonished us to use our time to grow in faith, love and purpose. The transformational impact of approaching everyday tasks with a spiritual purpose, as seen in Col 3:23 “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” This perspective shifts the focus from mere task completion to fulfilling one’s calling and serving others, and this can dramatically increase both the quality of work done and personal satisfaction.

Prov 16:3 Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. There should be a balance between diligent action and trust in divine guidance, as we plan and work towards our goals, we ought to remain open to the direction and instructions of the Lord. Proverbs 24:27 Underlines the importance of strategic planning and preparation, doing the groundwork before executions.

The bible text for today warns about living not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity. Eccl 9:10 admonished to “do with all your might”; maximising effort and efficiency. King Solomon advocates for full commitment to our vision, mission and values towards effective personal growth.

Eccl 3:1 reminds us of the seasonality of life and how to recognise the right timing and focus for tasks. Apply time blocking to dedicate specific hours to different activities- word study, prayer, academic activities, play and rest – ensuring a balanced approach to your daily life. Today you will identify and eliminate common distractions from your important tasks and set boundaries to minimize these interruptions, enabling you to have more focused and efficient work periods.

To achieve effective time management that can fuel your personal growth “Be sure that everything is done properly and in order 1 Corinth 14:40 teaches us the importance of conducting tasks in an orderly, structured manner.  Nothing saves time like a structured and orderly life.

Proverbs 10:4 associates diligent time management with achieving success and prosperity. I strongly believe that this is where you want to be. Let’s go ahead and Plan, Prepare, Prioritise, commit into the hands of God our plans, and execute without fear.

Here are a few reflective questions;

1. How much time do I dedicate to planning and preparation? 
2. What are my peak productivity times? 
3. Am I scheduling my most important tasks for these times? 
4. Am I spending time on my high-impact activities?

Let us Pray:

Thank you, Lord, for your word to me today. I receive grace to maximize my time and opportunities. I overcome procrastination, distractions and laziness in Jesus name Amen
