TITLE: DARE TO BE DIFFERENT
Our bible verse for today’s devotional is: Daniel 1:8 (NIV)
" But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way."
Devotional:
Standing out isn’t always easy, but sometimes it’s necessary. Daniel and his three friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, found themselves in a foreign land with different customs, beliefs, and expectations. They were expected to blend in, eat the king’s food, and follow the ways of Babylon. But they dared to be different. Daniel refused to eat the royal food because it was against his faith. His friends later stood firm and refused to bow to a golden statue, even when it meant being thrown into a fiery furnace. Their bold choices set them apart and showed their unwavering commitment to God.
As a teenager, you might feel the pressure to fit in, to talk, dress, and act like everyone else just to be accepted. But God calls you to stand out, to be a light in a world that often follows the crowd. Daring to be different might mean saying no to gossip, refusing to cheat in a test, or standing up for someone who is being bullied. It might mean holding onto your faith when others question it.
The good news? God stands with those who stand for Him. Just as He protected and honoured Daniel and his friends, He will strengthen you when you choose to live for Him.

- How can you stand firm in your faith like Daniel and his friends?
Let us Pray:
Lord, give me the boldness to stand for what is right, even when it is hard in Jesus name Amen.
Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:
- I am bold and unashamed of my faith.
- I will stand firm in my beliefs, knowing that God is with me.
