06-APRIL-2025 - LOVING DIFFICULT PEOPLE

THE MAIN THEME: CHANGING YOUR WORLD

TITLE: LOVING DIFFICULT PEOPLE

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is:   Matthew 5:44 (NIV)

"But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." —

Devotional:

It is easy to love people who treat us well, but Jesus calls us to a higher standard: to love even those who challenge us.

We all have people in our lives who are difficult to love. They are people who annoy us, hurt us, or simply don’t understand us.

Loving difficult people doesn’t mean ignoring our feelings or letting others mistreat us. It means choosing kindness over resentment, patience over anger, and understanding over judgment.

When we love difficult people, we reflect God’s grace—because, truthfully, we’ve all been difficult to love a lot of times, yet God loves us unconditionally.

Instead of reacting with frustration, try seeing difficult people as God sees them: imperfect but valuable. Pray for them. Set healthy boundaries when needed, but don’t let bitterness take root in your heart. Love isn’t always a feeling—it’s a choice, a reflection of God’s love in us.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. Who in your life is difficult to love right now?
  2. How can you show them God’s love in a practical way?
  3. What might God be teaching you through this challenge?

Let us pray

Heavenly Father, help me to see others through Your eyes and to respond with kindness, even when I am hurt or frustrated.(Amen)

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God’s love fills my heart, giving me the strength to love even when it’s hard.
  • I choose grace, patience, and kindness

You’ve got the grace to relate with difficult people. You can do it. I’ll see you tomorrow.
