Devotional

Life has its ups and downs, and sometimes, we might feel like we're stuck or that everything is falling apart. Whether it's a failed exam, a disagreement with a friend, or just a tough day, it can feel like the end of the world. But the truth is, it’s not the end; it’s just a moment in your journey.

As a teen, you’re learning how to handle new challenges, and sometimes those challenges might make you want to give up. But God’s word reminds us in Proverbs 24:16 that even when we fall, we are not meant to stay down. It says, “The righteous may fall seven times, but they will rise again.” This is a reminder that failure or disappointment does not define you. What matters most is getting back up.

Why?

Because God’s love for you is bigger than any mistake, bigger than any failure. He has a purpose for your life, and no setback can take that away. If you’re facing challenges right now, remember this: God is with you, and He is always ready to help you get up again, stronger and wiser than before.

How to Get Up:

Acknowledge the Setback

It’s okay to feel hurt or disappointed. But don’t let those feelings control you. Recognize them and then choose to move forward.

Pray for Strength

Ask God for the strength to rise again. He promises that He is near to the broken-hearted and will give you the courage to face anything.

Learn from the Experience

Every setback is an opportunity to learn. What can you do differently next time? What did this teach you about yourself or your circumstances?

Keep Moving Forward

The key to getting back up is action. Don’t stay stuck in your thoughts; keep moving forward, even if it’s one small step at a time.

Here are a few reflective questions;

  1.   When have I felt like giving up? How did I handle it?
  2.   What is one step I can take today to rise again?
  3.   How can I remind myself that God is always with me, even in tough times?

Let us pray:

Thank you, Lord, for your word to me today, I am reminded that my failures do not define me. When I fail, give me the strength to rise again. Help me trust that You have a greater plan for my life. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  • I am not defined by my failures:
  • I am strengthened by them.
  • I will rise again with God’s help

Enjoy your day, while I see you, tomorrow.
