05-JUNE-2025 -BE YOU, IT'S OKAY
THE MAIN THEME: STANDING OUT
TITLE: BE YOU, IT'S OKAY
Our bible verse for today’s devotional is: Jeremiah 1:5a (NIV)
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…"
Devotional:
Sometimes the pressure to conform is subtle. It shows up in the expectations people have of you, in the fear of being misunderstood, or in the unspoken demand to always “get it right.” But God says “I knew you”. I set you apart. Before anyone had an opinion, He had a plan.
Being you is not a mistake. You don’t need to alter your voice, your story, or your essence to be accepted. God handcrafted you with precision and placed you in this time and place with intentionality.
It’s okay to be different. It’s okay not to fit in. It’s okay to grow at your own pace. Even when you feel out of place, heaven recognizes you. Being you is enough. Being you is sacred. Being you is okay, because you are God’s idea.
In a world where people chase after filters and facades, choosing to be authentically you is both an act of courage and an act of worship.
Here are a few reflective questions:
- Have I struggled with accepting myself fully? Why?
- Where have I felt pressure to be someone I’m not?
- What truth from God’s Word can I hold onto when I feel inadequate?
Let us pray:
Father, thank You for knowing me deeply and loving me unconditionally. Help me to rest in the truth that who I am is enough in You. Silence the voices of comparison and shame, and strengthen my heart to live freely and authentically. May my life reflect Your design and delight. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:
- I am known, loved, and accepted by God.
- I do not need to perform to be valued.
- I am free to be myself.
- My identity is rooted in Christ, not in people’s opinions.
- I am enough, just as I am.
Have an amazing day being you. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!
