10-NOVEMBER-2024 - WHAT DO YOU SEE

THE MAIN THEME: HOW DO I GET TO WHERE I AM GOING?

TITLE: WHAT DO YOU SEE?

The quote for today’s devotional is:

“The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high, and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.”

– Michelangelo

Devotional:

In the bible, in the book of Genesis chapter 15, verse 5, God told Abraham to look into the night sky and attempt to count the stars. This exercise was to help Abraham, who was now an old man trusting God for a baby, to see beyond the physical limitations of his body and environment. Something powerful happens when we visualize and capture what we want in life. Albert Einstein said “Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions”.

In recent times, many people have engaged in the use of visualization tools like vision boards to help them keep in mind what they truly desire. Jack Canfield (author of Chicken Soup for the Soul) talks about a time when he desired a Hundred thousand Dollars in annual income, and he printed a hundred-dollar bill on a piece of paper, added some extra zeros, and attached it to his ceiling so that he would see this first thing in the morning and the last thing at night before sleeping. At the end of that year, he made 92,000 USD in income which was a big leap from his usual 8,000 USD annual income!

We can create a visual image with pictures or words describing our goals, and place these images where we can see them constantly like on our devices, our doors or walls at home/school, or in our vision journals (if you want more privacy). Seeing our vision constantly helps our mind start thinking about how to achieve what we want. Of course, achieving what we want does not stop here, but visualization is a great place to start.

Here are a few reflective questions:

-          Have I clearly defined my goals?

-          What do I want to achieve in the next 3 months, in 1 key area of my life?

-          Can I find the images or words that describe that goal and place it on a vision board (either physical or electronic) that I can see at least 8 times each day?

Let us pray:

Dear God, I thank you because all things are possible to him who believes. Help me trust you as I implement the divine ideas you give me concerning the visions in my heart, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • Having a vision for my life will get me to where I am going.
  • I can visualize my dream
  • I am constantly moving towards my goals and dreams!

Do have a fulfilling day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!

09-NOVEMBER-2024 - PACK UP FOR THE JOURNEY THE POWER OF VALUES AND BELIEFS

THE MAIN THEME: HOW DO I GET TO WHERE I AM GOING?

TITLE: PACK UP FOR THE JOURNEY: THE POWER OF VALUES AND BELIEFS

The bible verse for today's devotional is: Proverbs 10:9 (NIV)

“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.”

Devotional:

Every journey requires preparation. Imagine setting off on a long trip without packing a suitcase. You wouldn’t have what you need when you need them and that can be very uncomfortable.

The same is true in life. If you want to get to where you are going, you need to “pack” the right values and beliefs that will help you along the way.

Values are the core principles that guide your thoughts, decisions, words and actions while beliefs determine how you see the world, your perspective to life and purpose.

What you believe about God, yourself, others and your purpose affect how you live and respond to challenges.

If you believe you are loved by God and that He has a purpose for your life, you’ll be more confident when facing obstacles or making tough decisions

Without strong values and beliefs, it's easy to get swayed,  lost or pulled in the wrong direction.

Values like love, punctuality, timeliness, honesty, kindness, intergrity, hardwork, strongwill, respect, and faith are essential tools you need to have in your "backpack" as you journey through life. They help you make wise choices and stay on course, even when life gets tough.

Just like you wouldn’t pack unnecessary items for a trip, you shouldn’t carry beliefs or behaviours that keep you from reaching your goals. These are disempowering. If something isn’t helping you become who God has called you to be, it is best to leave it behind.

These are the treasures that will guide you to where you are going and help you to arrive well and in good time.

Here are a few reflective questions

Do I have values and beliefs?

  • Are my values and beliefs empowering or disempowering?
  • Are my values and beliefs helping me grow closer to God and guiding me toward my purpose?

Let us pray:

Dear God, fill my heart with values that reflect Your love and truth. Help me let go of anything that hinders my growth and guide me in living out the values that bring me closer to You in Jesus name Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • Living by values will get me to where I am going.
  • choose values that guide me toward my purpose and reflect God's love.
  • I let go of disempowering beliefs that no longer serve me and embrace faith and truth.

Have a value-driven day. Take good care of you.

08-NOVEMBER-2024 - THE ROADMAP GOD'S WORD AS YOUR GUIDEBOOK

THE MAIN THEME: HOW DO I GET TO WHERE I AM GOING?

TITLE: THE ROADMAP: GOD'S WORD AS YOUR GUIDEBOOK

The bible verse for today's devotional is: Psalm 119:105 (NIV)

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

Devotional

Life can sometimes feel like an overwhelming journey, especially as a teenager. You’re faced with choices that impact your future, and it’s easy to feel unsure about the right direction.

Imagine going on a road trip without a map; you can get lost, confused, and unsure of how to get to your destination. The same can happen when we try to navigate life without God’s guidance. But here’s the good news: God has given us a roadmap, His word, to guide us on life’s journey.

The Bible is your map that shows you the path God wants you to take. It highlights the right turns, warns you of obstacles, and gives you direction when you feel lost.

But remember, it’s not enough to just have the map. You have to follow its instructions.

The Bible is not just a book of ancient stories but a living guide that speaks into every area of your life. As you face new challenges, opportunities, and decisions, remember that God’s word is your roadmap. Read it, study it, meditate on it, trust it, follow it, and let it light your path.

Here are a few reflective questions

  • What steps can I take to make God’s word a more consistent part of my daily routine?
  • Are there areas in my life where I have ignored God’s directions? What can I do to align my actions with His word?

Let us pray

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me Your word to guide me. Help me to trust Your direction, even when the road ahead is unclear.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • His word will get me to where I am going.
  • God’s promises in Scripture are my roadmap, leading me toward purpose, peace, and wisdom.
  • With the Bible as my guide, I am confident that I will not stray, for God’s truth is always with me.

Have a beautiful day dear ones. I’ll see you tomorrow.

07-NOVEMBER-2024 - FUEL FOR THE JOURNEY THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER

THE MAIN THEME: HOW DO I GET TO WHERE I AM GOING?

TITLE: FUEL FOR THE JOURNEY: THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NIV)

"pray continually."

Devotional:

Imagine going on a long trip with little fuel in the car. No matter how strong the car is, without fuel, it won’t take you far.

Think of prayer as the fuel that fills your spiritual tank. Without it, life can feel exhausting and overwhelming. You might try to keep going on your own strength, but eventually, you’ll run out of energy. But with prayer, you tap into God’s unlimited power and wisdom.

Prayer is more than just asking God for things. It is about connecting with Him and having conversations with God where you can share your fears, joys, and struggles, and in return, receive peace, guidance, and strength.

Jesus Himself modelled the importance of prayer. Even though He was the Son of God, He constantly took time to pray and alone too.

Whether He was about to perform a miracle, make a big decision, or face a difficult challenge, If Jesus needed to pray to stay on course, how much more do we?

Here are a few reflective questions:

Do I pray?

  • How often do I rely on prayer as a source of strength and guidance in my life?
  • How can I  make prayer a regular part of my daily journey?

Let us pray:

Dear God, help me to remember that I don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. Teach me to come to You in prayer every day, relying on Your strength and guidance for my journey in Jesus name Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • Prayers will get me to where I am going?
  • Through prayer, I find strength, clarity, and direction for every step I take."
  • God hears my prayers, and His answers and guides me through every challenge and opportunity on my journey.”

Take time to pray about that challenge, today. I join my faith with yours to say a big amen. Take good care, I’ll see you tomorrow.

06-NOVEMBER-2024 - HOW WELL ARE YOU CELEBRATING YOUR WINS

THE MAIN THEME: HOW DO I GET TO WHERE I AM GOING?

TITLE: HOW WELL ARE YOU CELEBRATING YOUR WINS?

The quote for today’s devotional is:
"The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate." – Oprah Winfrey

Devotional:
In a world that often pushes us to focus on what’s next, we can easily forget to pause and celebrate our achievements. Whether big or small, every victory in life deserves recognition. Celebrating your wins is not about bragging—it’s about appreciating how far you’ve come, acknowledging the hard work, and boosting your motivation for the future. It’s easy to move from one task to the next without stopping to reflect on your progress, but taking time to celebrate is essential for maintaining a positive outlook and encouraging personal growth.

Many high achievers, like Serena Williams, are known for celebrating their wins, both on and off the tennis court. After each victory, Williams takes a moment to reflect and appreciate her hard work, which fuels her drive to keep striving for more. Celebrating her wins doesn’t mean she’s satisfied with stopping there, but it keeps her motivated and helps her maintain a healthy perspective on success.

When you celebrate your achievements, you reinforce the belief that your efforts matter. It builds confidence, boosts morale, and reminds you of your capabilities. No matter how small the success, it’s worth celebrating because it brings you one step closer to your goals.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. How often do I take the time to celebrate my achievements?
  2. Do I feel guilty or hesitant when acknowledging my wins? Why?
  3. How can celebrating small victories help me stay motivated and positive?
  4. What are some recent wins in my life that I can celebrate today?

Let us pray:
Lord, help me to recognize and celebrate the victories You’ve blessed me with. Teach me to pause and appreciate the progress I’ve made, no matter how small. May I find joy in each step forward and use these moments to grow in gratitude and confidence. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • Celebrating every achievement will get me to where I am going.
  • I celebrate every win, no matter the size, as a reflection of my progress and growth.
  •  Each success is a reminder of my strength and perseverance,
  • I am a victor and I always overcome.

Do have a splendid day lovelies. I’ll see you tomorrow
