20-FEBRUARY-2025 - DREAMING BIG - SETTING LIFE GOALS

THE MAIN THEME: THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE

TITLE: DREAMING BIG: SETTING LIFE GOALS

The quote for today’s devotional is”:
"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars."

– Norman Vincent Peale

Devotional:
Imagine standing at the base of a towering mountain, looking up at its peak. It may seem far away, but you can reach it with determination and a clear plan. Setting life goals is like deciding which mountain to climb and charting your path to the summit.

Think about Nelson Mandela. As a young man, he dared to dream big for himself and an entire nation. Despite obstacles, he relentlessly pursued his vision of equality and freedom. His life shows us that big dreams, coupled with perseverance, can change your life and the world around you.

Dreaming big doesn’t mean ignoring reality; embracing your potential and refusing to settle for mediocrity. Setting life goals gives your dreams structure, turning vague aspirations into actionable plans. Break them down into short-term steps and celebrate each milestone along the way. Remember, no dream is too big if you’re willing to put in the effort and stay focused.

Never be afraid to dream big—it’s the first step to greatness. Start small, stay consistent, and trust the process.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What is one big dream you’ve always wanted to pursue?
  2. What steps can you take today to achieve that dream?
  3. Are there fears or doubts holding you back from setting life goals?
  4. How can you stay motivated when the journey gets tough?

Let us pray:
Lord, thank You for the gift of vision and dreams. Teach me to dream big and set goals that align with your life's purpose. Give me the courage, wisdom, and strength to pursue them, trusting that You will guide me every step of the way. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  • I dare to dream big and set meaningful goals for my life.
  • I take steps daily toward achieving my dreams.
  • I am capable of turning my visions into reality.
  • With determination and faith, I can overcome any obstacle.

Your dreams matter, and so do you. Have a fantastic day filled with vision and purpose. See you tomorrow!

THE MAIN THEME: PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE

TITLE: THE PRECIOUS GIFT CALLED LIFE

The quote for today’s devotional is:

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
 ― Albert Einstein

Devotional:

In Matthew 25, verse 14 to 30, Jesus shares the parable of talents- a popular story about a master who distributes his ‘talents’ (money), to his servants in different proportions and then goes on a journey. When he returned, the first servant had multiplied his 5 talents to 10, the second one had multiplied his 2 talents to 4, but the third servant had hidden his talent and was reprimanded for not doing anything useful with what he was given.

Our life is like this treasure that the master entrusted to his servants- our life is the precious gift we have been given. In the same way we would not receive a beautiful package on our birthday, or at Christmas or on any other special occasion, and hide the gift, refusing to show it to others nor using the item received for our personal benefit or for the benefit of others, we also should not hide our lives.

Nick Vujicic was born without hands and legs due to a rare disorder. His early life was full of struggles, and he even considered ending his life at one point. But his story doesn’t end there. Through the love of family and his growing faith, he chose to go on and make something beautiful out of his life, despite the limitations of having no hands and legs. Today he is an inspiration to many as he travels the world motivating others to do more with the wonderful, precious gift they have received- their lives.

No matter what seems to be working or not working in our lives, the fact that we are still breathing- is a gift that must be treasured. Today’s lesson is a call to remember to be thankful for the precious gift that you have, and chose to let that gift bless you and others around you.

We are here for a reason, and for a season. If you are still breathing, it is because you are still vital, for a reason- that is something to be treasured and celebrated.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What can I do today, to celebrate that I am alive/ be thankful that God trusted me with living another day?
  2. What is one thing I can do daily to remind myself of how much of a treasure, life is?
  3. In my own way, what can I do to use this treasure-my life- to be a blessing to others?

Let us pray:

Dear God, I am grateful for this precious life you have given me. Help me treasure my life and use it for your glory, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • My life is a precious gift.
  • I am grateful I am alive.
  • I live each day purposefully.

Have a pleasant day. I’ll see you tomorrow.

19-FEBRUARY-2025 - RECOGNIZING YOUR VALUES AND BELIEFS

THE MAIN THEME: THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE

TITLE: RECOGNIZING YOUR VALUES AND BELIEFS

The quote for today’s devotional is:
"Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, your values become your destiny."

– Mahatma Gandhi

Devotional:
Imagine you’re on a treasure hunt. The map is your purpose, and the compass is your values and beliefs. Without that compass, you might get lost or go off course. Recognising your values and beliefs is essential to living a purpose-driven life—they guide your decisions, influence your relationships, and shape your destiny.

Take, for instance, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, an acclaimed African author. Growing up in Nigeria, her beliefs about justice and equality were deeply influenced by her experiences and cultural heritage. Today, she uses her platform to amplify voices, challenge stereotypes, and advocate for societal change. Her values define her work and inspire others to reflect on their beliefs.

In the same way, understanding your core values helps you stay true to yourself, even in a world filled with distractions. When you know what you stand for, it’s easier to make decisions that align with your purpose, avoid regrets, and remain focused on what truly matters.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What are the beliefs that shape the way you see the world?
  2. Can you identify three values that guide your daily decisions?
  3. How do your values align with the goals you’ve set for yourself?
  4. Are there situations where you’ve compromised your values? How did that make you feel?

Let us pray:
Lord, thank You for the unique values and beliefs You’ve placed within me. Help me to recognise and embrace them as I navigate life’s journey. Guide me to align my actions with what truly matters and live a life that reflects Your purpose. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  •         I recognise and honour my core values and beliefs.
  •         I make decisions that align with my purpose and integrity.
  •         My values guide me to live a meaningful and impactful life.
  •         I am confident in who I am and what I stand for.

Have a purposeful day, and remember to stay true to yourself. I’ll see you tomorrow!

18-FEBRUARY-2025 - DEVELOPING SELF-DISCIPLINE AND RESPONSIBILITY

THE MAIN THEME: THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE

TITLE: DEVELOPING SELF-DISCIPLINE AND RESPONSIBILITY

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Hebrews 12:11 (NIV)
"No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."

Devotional:
Imagine a farmer tending to a field. The work is hard—ploughing, planting, and watering takes time and effort. But in due season, the farmer reaps a bountiful harvest. Developing self-discipline and responsibility in life is much like farming. It requires consistent effort and patience, but the rewards are worth it.

Consider Joseph, who faced many trials in his journey from the pit to the palace. Despite being betrayed, sold into slavery, and falsely accused, Joseph remained disciplined and responsible. Whether managing Potiphar’s household or leading Egypt during a famine, his dedication and integrity earned him favour and success.

Self-discipline means doing what is necessary, even when you don’t feel like it. Responsibility means taking ownership of your actions and decisions. Together, they prepare you for life’s challenges and help you achieve your goals. Start small—manage your time, fulfil commitments, and stay focused on what matters. With God’s help, you can cultivate these qualities and see growth in every area of your life.

Self-discipline and responsibility are keys to unlocking your potential. Take small, consistent steps daily, trusting God to guide you.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. In what areas of your life do you struggle with self-discipline?
  2. How can you take more responsibility for your actions and decisions?
  3. How can you build habits that align with your goals?
  4. How can Joseph’s story inspire you to remain faithful in challenging times?

Let us pray:
Lord, thank You for the opportunity to grow in self-discipline and responsibility. Help me stay committed to doing what is right and take ownership of my actions. Teach me to trust in Your guidance and strength as I navigate life’s challenges. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  • I am disciplined and responsible in all that I do.
  • I take ownership of my actions and grow through every challenge.
  • I am focused on achieving my goals and fulfilling my purpose.
  • With God’s help, I can overcome distractions and remain steadfast.

Stay focused, stay committed, and watch how far you can go. Have a disciplined and productive day. See you tomorrow!

17-FEBRUARY-2025 - WHY I MUST UNDERSTAND MY _WHY_

THE MAIN THEME: THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE

TITLE: WHY I MUST UNDERSTAND MY 'WHY'

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Romans 8:28 (NIV)

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." –

Devotional:
Understanding your "why" brings clarity and direction to your life. Esther, a Jewish girl who became queen, had to discover her "why" at a critical moment. When her people were threatened with destruction, Mordecai reminded her, “And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14).

Esther’s "why" was tied to her role as a saviour for her people. It required courage, faith, and a willingness to risk her own life. Similarly, when you understand your "why," you begin to see your life’s moments, roles, and opportunities through the lens of divine purpose. Your "why" is not about you—it’s about how God wants to use you to bless others.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What situations or opportunities in your life might reveal your "why"?
  2. Are you willing to step out in faith, even when your "why" feels overwhelming?
  3. Who is waiting for you to fulfill your "why"?

Let Us Pray:
Lord, help me to understand the deeper purpose behind where You’ve placed me. Give me the courage to act boldly, knowing that You have prepared me for this moment. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I am purposeful
  • I understand my "why,"
  • I will step out in faith to fulfill God’s plan for my life.

Do have a fulfilling day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!
