01-FEBRUARY-2025 - EMBRACING AUTHENTICITY AND INDIVIDUALITY

MAIN THEME; THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE

TITLE: EMBRACING AUTHENTICITY AND INDIVIDUALITY

The quote for today’s devotional is: "Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."

  • Oscar Wilde

Devotional

In a world that constantly tells you who to be, it can feel overwhelming to stand out and embrace your true self. Social media, peer pressure, and societal expectations often create a mold that everyone seems to follow. But God didn’t create you to fit into someone else’s mold. He made you uniquely you.

Think about it: no two fingerprints are the same, no two voices sound exactly alike, and no one else has your exact combination of talents, quirks, and dreams. You are a masterpiece, carefully designed by the Creator of the universe.

When you try to imitate others or hide parts of who you are, you miss out on the amazing plans God has for your life. Embracing your authenticity means recognizing your worth in Christ and celebrating the individuality He’s given you.

Practical Steps to Embrace Your Authenticity

  1. Study the Bible and spend time praying to understand how God sees you.
  2. Celebrate Your strengths and weaknesses
  3. Say no to comparison as it makes you lose sight of your own unique value.
  4. Be authentic about your feelings. Share your struggles and joys with trusted friends or mentors.

Let us pray

Dear God, thank You for creating me as a unique masterpiece. Help me to see myself through Your eyes and embrace the individuality You’ve given me. Amen.

Here are a few reflective questions

  1. What are some unique qualities or talents that God has given you?
  2. Have you ever felt pressured to be someone you’re not? How did it make you feel?
  3. How can you start embracing your authenticity and individuality this week?

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I am God’s masterpiece, uniquely created with purpose and love.
  • I embrace my individuality and trust that God’s plans for me are perfect

Have an amazing day and see you tomorrow.

31-JANUARY-2025 - ALONE BUT NOT LONELY- FINDING SOLITUDE WITH GOD

THE MAIN THEME: WHO DO I GO WITH?

TITLE: ALONE BUT NOT LONELY: FINDING SOLITUDE WITH GOD

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

Be still, and know that I am God.

Devotional:

Being alone can feel uncomfortable or even lonely. Yet, solitude can be one of the most transformative experiences when we invite God into that space.

Throughout Scripture, we see examples of people finding strength and clarity in solitude with God. Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray and connect with the Father (Luke 5:16). These moments were not about isolation but about intimate fellowship with God, away from distractions.

Being alone doesn’t have to mean being lonely. Solitude with God is a gift—a time to listen, rest, and grow in faith. It’s an opportunity to know Him deeply and allow His love to fill every empty space in our hearts.

If you find yourself in a season of aloneness, embrace it as a sacred time with God. Let Him renew your strength, clarify your path, and remind you that you are never truly alone.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  • How can I create more moments of solitude to connect with God?
  • Do I see being alone as a gift or as a burden? Why?
  • In what ways has God revealed Himself to me during times of stillness?

Let Us Pray:
Father, thank You for always being with me, especially in moments when I feel alone. Help me to embrace solitude as a time to draw closer to You. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I am never alone; God is always with me.
  • I embrace solitude as an opportunity to grow closer to God.
  • God fills every empty space in my heart with His love.
  • I find strength, clarity, and peace in God’s presence.

Do have a fulfilling day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!

30-JANUARY-2025 - FAMILY AS YOUR FIRST TEAM

THE MAIN THEME: WHO DO I GO WITH?

TITLE: FAMILY AS YOUR FIRST TEAM

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Mark 3:25 (NIV)

If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

Devotional:
Family is God’s foundational design for community. Long before you build friendships or partnerships, your family is the first team God places you in. They are meant to be your support system, your encouragers, and your accountability partners. While families are not perfect, they are a gift from God, designed to nurture and shape us.

In Mark 3:25, Jesus reminds us that division weakens any household. Unity within a family is key to its strength and ability to weather life’s storms. When families support each other, they become a safe haven and a launchpad for fulfilling God’s purpose.

Even in situations where family dynamics are strained, you can still choose to foster love, forgiveness, and prayer. As members of God’s family, we are called to be peacemakers, bridge-builders, and advocates for unity.

Who you go with begins at home. Start by nurturing and investing in the relationships within your family. Pray for them, support them, and trust God to strengthen those bonds.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  • How can I contribute to unity and love within my family?
  • Are there unresolved issues in my family that need forgiveness and healing?
  • How has God used my family as my first team to shape my life and purpose?

Let Us Pray:
Lord, thank You for placing me in a family where I can learn, grow, and love. Help me to see my family as my first team and teach me how to contribute to its unity and strength. Heal any divisions or pain in my family, and guide us to walk in love and understanding. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • My family is my first team, and I cherish them deeply.
  • I am a source of love, unity, and peace in my family.
  • I forgive and release past hurts, trusting God to heal my family.
  • With God’s help, my family is strong, united, and purposeful.

Do have a fulfilling day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!

29-JANUARY-2025 - THE POWER OF LOVE

THE MAIN THEME: WHO DO I GO WITH?

TITLE: THE POWER OF LOVE

The bible verse for today’s devotional is:  1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV)

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

 Devotional:

Love is in action not words. Of course, words are important as we need to convey our thoughts through words, but beyond just saying ‘I love you’ to your friends and family members, what you do as a corresponding action to demonstrate that love is more important and that is what lingers in the hearts of your loved ones.

There is a story in the bible of the good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37), which is essentially a narrative of how a stranger, one who was the least likely to have a good reason to show care to a jew, was able to suspend his prejudice and offer help to someone who needed it, even to the extent of committing more resources than he originally planned to spend for the welfare of another person. That was love in action!

As we go along our day, we will come across different people who tick us off in all the wrong ways - the call for today is to choose to be the difference maker. You can choose to ignore the obvious provocation, choose to be patient and offer grace to those who do not ‘get it’ as fast as you do(whatever ‘it’ is), choose to say a kind word or withhold the angry words when wronged, choose to believe the best so that you can respond with kindness, choose to rejoice when others get something you wanted, choose to be love personified!

Here are a few reflective questions:

-          Who is in my life who may may help or be kind today?

-          How can I go beyond words to show love through action?

-         How can I use my actions to reflect God’s love in my daily life?

Let Us Pray:

Dear God, I thank you for your love that makes a difference in me. Help me extend that same love to others in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I will show love through my actions, no matter how small they seem.
  • I choose to respond to hurt with love and kindness.
  • My actions will reflect God’s love and inspire others to change.

Have a lovely day. Take good care of yourselves. I’ll see you tomorrow.

28-JANUARY-2025 - FORGIVENESS PROCESS

THE MAIN THEME: WHO DO I GO WITH?

TITLE: FORGIVENESS PROCESS

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Colossians 3:13 (NIV)

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Devotional:

The second semester was particularly difficult for Kofi. His name had been listed as one of those who cheated during a major exam and there were rumours that those listed would not graduate. D-day came and as rumoured, the school had decided to expel all whose names were on the list. Kofi could not understand why this was happening, as he ‘faithfully’ served God and knew that he did not cheat.

As he was in his room packing his bags, his friend Sam walked in with a rather long face and begged his forgiveness. He explained that he (Sam) had cheated and when he was caught, he had given his name as Kofi and had gone on to provide Kofi’s exam number, to cover his tracks. Kofi was totally devastated, the verdict had been passed and he was leaving school. How could his friend do this to him? His anger knew no bounds.. and as he shouted at Sam and cried, he felt like his heart would literally burst.

He was a Christian and knew about forgiveness but he didn’t feel he could forgive - this level of betrayal was unprecedented he thought.

Kofi’s story is not peculiar; there are times close friends and family would act in ways that ‘bring us to our knees’, sending us into the hole of despair. At that instance, our way out is forgiveness.

But what really is forgiveness? Forgiveness is first a command from God, so when we choose to forgive, we are choosing to obey God. Beyond this, research has shown that forgiveness benefits the offended, more than the offender. When we allow hurt to sit in our heart, it ends up becoming anger and resentment and all those hard emotions that affect our health negatively.

How do you forgive? The first thing to do is to acknowledge the wrong and how it makes you feel. Find safe ways to deal with the hurtful emotions; make a decision to forgive, and choose to move on. You may speak with a trusted adult or a professional.  Trust God to work it all out for you and ask God to help you.

While you must choose to forgive, you must keep in mind that you don’t always need to reconcile with the offender.

Forgiveness does not mean that what was done to us is ok, it simply means we are choosing not to allow the offender to continue to hurt us.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  • Is there someone I need to forgive?
  • Is there anyone I have offended?
  • Have I offended someone who works with me or supports my journey to destiny or has the person offended me?

Let Us Pray:

Dear God, thank You for forgiving me even when I don’t deserve it. Help me to forgive those who have hurt me. I pray I am forgiven too. Amen.”

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I choose to forgive because it sets my heart free.
  • My destiny is too precious to be weighed down by bitterness.
  • God’s love empowers me to forgive and move forward.

Have a day free of hurts. I’ll see you tomorrow, lovelies.
