28-DECEMBER-2024 - MIND MAPPING

THE MAIN THEME: WHEN DO I GET THERE?

TITLE: MIND MAPPING

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

Devotional

When you hear the term "mind mapping," think of it as brainstorming your future. A mind map is a visual way to lay out your goals, dreams, and the steps you’ll need to take to reach them. Just like a GPS needs a destination, your journey in life needs a vision of where you're headed.

Creating a mind map for your life helps you visualize each area of growth—spiritual, academic, social, and personal. By putting your goals on paper, you’re asking God to guide your steps and help you stay focused on the journey.Creating a mind map helps you see where you’re going. It allows you to break down big dreams into smaller, achievable steps. God wants to partner with you in creating a clear vision for your life. With a plan in mind, it’s easier to pray, set goals, and move forward in faith.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  • How could a mind map help me see my vision more clearly?
  • How does knowing God cares about my plans make me feel about the journey?

Let Us Pray:

Lord, I commit my plans to You. Help me to see each step clearly and guide me as I move toward my dreams. Show me Your path, and give me wisdom in my journey. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God knows when I will get there
  • I have a mind map which aligns with God’s will
  • I will follow my mind map

Have a beautiful day. Take good care of yourself. I’ll see you tomorrow.

27-DECEMBER-2024 - KNOWING WHEN YOU ARE THERE

THE MAIN THEME: WHEN DO I GET THERE?

TITLE: KNOWING WHEN YOU ARE THERE

The quote for today’s devotional is:
"Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome." – Arthur Ashe

Devotional:
How do you know when you’ve “arrived” at a goal or reached success? We often think achieving specific milestones will give us a sense of completeness or fulfillment, but sometimes, even when we get there, we still feel like something is missing. Knowing when you’ve reached your goal isn’t just about ticking boxes; it’s about recognizing growth, feeling a deep sense of purpose, and understanding the journey it took to get there.

A great example is Maya Angelou, who accomplished countless things in her lifetime as an author, poet, and activist. Yet, even as her fame and recognition grew, she continuously strived for more personal and artistic growth. She didn’t measure success just by awards or achievements; instead, she viewed “arrival” as ongoing personal fulfillment, peace, and impact on others.

Knowing when you're "there" isn’t about comparing yourself to others or waiting for validation. It’s about seeing your progress, acknowledging your hard work, and feeling the joy of being aligned with your purpose. Recognizing when you’re there means you understand your journey and feel content without needing external validation.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. Do I sometimes feel unfulfilled, even after reaching a goal?
  2. How can I measure my growth and success beyond just accomplishments?
  3. What areas of my life currently give me a sense of peace and purpose?
  4. How do I think I’ll know when I am “there” ?

Let us pray:
Lord, help me appreciate the moments when I have reached fulfilment in my journey. Give me peace in my progress and the wisdom to see purpose beyond achievements. May I find joy in the journey, knowing that I am walking in alignment with Your will. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God knows when I will get there
  • I embrace my journey, recognizing growth and purpose with every step.
  • I am fulfilled by the progress I make, and I trust that I am exactly where I need to be.

Have an awe-mazing day. Take good care of yourself. I’ll see you tomorrow.

26-DECEMBER-2024 - THE DANGERS OF ASSUMPTIONS

THE MAIN THEME: WHEN DO I GET THERE?

TITLE: THE DANGERS OF ASSUMPTIONS

The quote for today’s devotional is:
"Assumptions are the termites of relationships."

– Henry Winkler

Devotional:
Assumptions can lead us down a path of misunderstanding and missed opportunities. When we assume, we create a reality in our minds that may be far from the truth. Assumptions are often based on our past experiences, biases, or incomplete information, and they can damage relationships and hinder personal growth.

Imagine a friend who stops replying to your messages. You might assume they’re upset with you when, in reality, they’re going through a tough time and need support. Without checking in, assumptions can cause us to act on false beliefs and even push others away.

A powerful example of the danger of assumptions is the story of NASA’s Mars Climate Orbiter. A simple assumption about measurement units caused the loss of a $125 million spacecraft. One team assumed measurements in metric units while the other used imperial, leading to its crash. This example shows that assumptions, even small ones, can have costly consequences.

Breaking free from assumptions requires asking questions, clarifying information, and having an open mind. Doing so leads to better understanding, stronger relationships, and greater trust.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. Do I often find myself making assumptions about people or situations?
  2. How have assumptions impacted my relationships or decisions in the past?
  3. How can I develop a habit of asking questions rather than jumping to conclusions?

Let us pray:
Lord, help me to avoid assumptions and seek truth with an open heart. Give me the courage to ask questions, listen deeply, and approach each situation with understanding and patience. May I see others through Your eyes, free from judgement and misunderstandings. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God knows when I will get there
  • I choose to approach life with curiosity and clarity.
  • I will seek understanding and truth in my relationships and decisions.
  • I have courage to ask questions and I have the patience needed to listen deeply.

Be unassuming today. Take good care of yourself. I’ll see you tomorrow.

25-DECEMBER-2024 - THE POWER OF MINDSET

THE MAIN THEME: WHEN DO I GET THERE?

TITLE: THE POWER OF MINDSET

The quote for today’s devotional is:
"Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right."

– Henry Ford

Devotional:
Mindset is a powerful force that shapes how we view ourselves, our goals, and the world around us. It can either propel us forward or hold us back. A growth mindset—the belief that abilities and intelligence can develop through dedication and hard work—enables us to embrace challenges, learn from setbacks, and keep pushing forward. In contrast, a fixed mindset makes us avoid challenges, give up easily, and fear failure.

Consider Serena Williams, who faced numerous challenges on her path to becoming one of the greatest athletes in history. She has spoken about the importance of mental strength and resilience, especially when the odds were against her. Her mindset—one of confidence, determination, and growth—helped her break barriers and win countless championships.

The power of mindset lies in its ability to transform obstacles into opportunities. When we believe in our capacity to grow, we can overcome any difficulty. A positive, growth-focused mindset helps us to thrive and pursue excellence in all areas of life.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. Do I believe that I can grow and improve with more  effort?
  2. How do I react to challenges? Do I embrace them or avoid them?
  3. What changes can I make to develop a growth mindset?

Let us pray:
Dear Lord, help me cultivate a mindset of growth and resilience. Teach me to see challenges as opportunities for growth and to believe in the potential You have placed within me. Strengthen my mind to overcome doubts and to stay focused on Your purpose for my life. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God knows when I will get there
  • I embrace a mindset of growth and resilience.
  • I face challenges with courage, knowing that each step forward strengthens my potential and brings me closer to my purpose.
  • I am capable of achieving great things.

Have an awesome day. Take good care of yourself. I’ll see you tomorrow.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

24-DECEMBER-2024 - QUITTERS NEVER WIN

THE MAIN THEME: WHEN DO I GET THERE?

TITLE: QUITTERS NEVER WIN

The quote for today’s devotional is:
"It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer."

– Albert Einstein

Devotional:
We all face moments when quitting seems like the easiest or better option. The challenges feel overwhelming, and the journey to success feels far too long. But resilience—the ability to keep going despite setbacks—is what separates those who succeed from those who don’t. Quitting too soon means missing out on the breakthroughs that only perseverance can bring. Every failure or tough moment holds a lesson, and every step forward is a step closer to success.

A great example is Thomas Edison, who failed thousands of times before inventing the light bulb. When asked about his repeated failures, he famously said, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." His persistence led to one of the most important inventions in history, reminding us that every stumble along the way is a learning opportunity.

Success isn’t about never falling; it’s about refusing to give up. Staying committed to our goals, even when things get tough, build our strength, character, and ability to overcome future obstacles. The journey is what shapes us, and enduring through hard times is what ultimately leads us to victory.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. Is there a challenge I  feel like giving up on?
  2. How can I  remind myself of the reasons I started my journey in the first place?
  3. What small steps can I take today to keep moving forward?
  4. How have past challenges helped me grow and prepare for future successes?

Let us pray:
Lord, give me the strength to persevere when the road is tough. Help me to stay focused and committed, knowing that each step brings me closer to my purpose. May I find courage in the face of obstacles and learn from every experience along the way. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God knows when I will get there.
  • I am resilient and committed to my goals.
  • Every challenge I face builds my strength and brings me closer to success.
  • I refuse to quit and am confident in my ability to overcome.

Have a beautiful day. Take good care of yourself. I’ll see you tomorrow
