08-DECEMBER-2024 - THE EFFECT OF PURPOSE WITHOUT IMPACT

THE MAIN THEME: WHEN DO I GET THERE?

TITLE: THE EFFECT OF PURPOSE WITHOUT IMPACT

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Devotional:

Purpose is a powerful motivator in our lives. It gives us direction, ignites our passion, and drives our actions. However, having a purpose without the tangible impact can lead to frustration and a sense of unfulfillment. God created each of us with a unique calling and designed us to do good works that not only fulfill our purpose but also benefit those around us.

The challenge lies in ensuring that our purpose translates into meaningful actions that create a positive impact in our communities and the world. It is essential to reflect on how we can align our daily actions with our purpose, ensuring that we contribute to the greater good and make a difference.

On your journey of purpose and impact, choose to be mindful of the opportunities around us to serve others. Small acts of kindness, encouragement, and support can have profound effects, and translate our purpose into a force for good.

Your life is not about you alone.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  • How does my daily action align with my current purpose and the impact I want to make?
  • What small steps can I take today to ensure my purpose leads to meaningful impact?
  • How can I encourage others to embrace their purpose while making an impact?

Let Us Pray:
Dear Lord, thank You for the purpose You have instilled within me. Grant me the wisdom to see opportunities to serve and the courage to act upon them. May my life reflect Your love and goodness, and may I inspire others to embrace their purpose and make a difference. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God knows when I will get there.
  • I am committed to living my purpose with intention and impact.
  • I have the power to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
  • I embrace opportunities to serve and uplift those around me.
  • I trust that my purpose will bear fruit in meaningful ways.

Do have a fulfilling day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!

07-DECEMBER-2024 - CONNECTING THE DOTS

THE MAIN THEME: WHEN DO I GET THERE?

TITLE: CONNECTING THE DOTS

The quote for today’s devotional is:

Wisdom is like a baobab tree; no one individual can embrace it.

– Akan and Ewe

Devotional:
Connecting the dots on life’s journey is a journey towards wisdom and understanding. The baobab tree, known for its immense size and longevity, symbolizes the vastness and complexity of wisdom. Just as no single person can fully embrace the baobab tree in all its grandeur, no one individual can possess complete wisdom on their own. Instead, wisdom is cultivated through a collective journey, shaped by shared experiences, insights, and perspectives.

In our lives, we often encounter challenges, questions, and uncertainties that prompt us to seek wisdom. It is through engaging with others—listening to their stories, learning from their experiences, and sharing our own—that we begin to connect the dots. Each conversation, each shared moment of understanding, adds another branch to our understanding of life.

When we acknowledge that wisdom is a communal asset, we become more open to learning from those around us. We recognize that everyone we meet has a unique perspective shaped by their experiences, and these contributions enrich our own understanding.

Connecting the dots involves more than just recognizing patterns in our own lives; it also means understanding how our experiences intersect with those of others. This will help us gain a fuller understanding of our circumstances, motivations, and potential paths forward.               .

Here are a few reflective questions:

  • How have my interactions with others shaped my understanding of wisdom?
  • In what ways can I contribute to the wisdom of my community by sharing my experiences?
  • How can I cultivate a mindset that values the wisdom of others in my journey?

Let Us Pray:

Lord, guide me as I navigate my journey, help me to see the bigger picture and to embrace the idea that I am never alone in my struggles or triumphs. May I find strength in collaboration and joy in the shared wisdom of those around me.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God knows when I will get there.
  • I embrace the beauty of community and the insights it brings.
  • I listen with an open heart, and value the perspectives of those around me.
  • I contribute my unique experiences to the collective wisdom of my community.

Do have a fulfilling day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!

06-DECEMBER-2024 - EMBRACING PROGRESS OVER PERFECTIONEMBRACING PROGRESS OVER PERFECTION

THE MAIN THEME: WHEN DO I GET THERE?

TITLE: EMBRACING PROGRESS OVER PERFECTION

The quote for today’s devotional is: "Little by little, the bird builds its nest."

— African Proverb

Devotional:
This African proverb beautifully captures the essence of consistent effort and patience in our journey toward growth. Have you ever seen a bird trying to build its nest? It gathers twigs, leaves, and other materials, slowly and methodically. These bits and pieces come together to form a beautiful and intricate design which later houses the bird. We too can approach our personal and spiritual development one step at a time. The process of building a nest takes time and diligence, our reminder that meaningful results are often achieved through gradual, persistent effort.

While we live in a world that often prioritizes quick results and instant gratification, this proverb is a powerful reminder that true growth is a journey.

Dear friends, be encouraged to embrace each small step, no matter how insignificant it may seem, because these steps accumulate over time and lead to significant achievements.

Perfection is not the goal; rather, it's the progress we make, the lessons we learn, and the experiences we gather along the way that define our paths.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  • What small steps can I take today toward my goals, even if they seem insignificant?
  • How can I remind myself that growth is a journey, and it's okay to not have everything figured out immediately?
  • In what areas of my life have I been seeking immediate results instead of appreciating the gradual process?

Let Us Pray:
Heavenly Father, thank you for reminding me that growth is a journey, not a race. Help me to embrace each step with gratitude, trusting that you are guiding my path. When I feel discouraged, remind me that you are working in me, even through the small, daily progress I make.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God knows when I will get there.
  • I am growing every day, even in my imperfections.
  • I celebrate progress, not perfection, in my journey.
  • I trust the process of growth, knowing that I am becoming who I am meant to be.

Do have a fulfilling day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!

05-DECEMBER-2024 - MILESTONES AND MARKERS_CELEBRATE GROWTH AND PROGRESS

THE MAIN THEME: WHEN DO I GET THERE?

TITLE: MILESTONES AND MARKERS: CELEBRATE GROWTH AND PROGRESS

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Zechariah 4:10 (NIV)

Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?”

Devotional:

Have you ever felt like you’re not making much progress in life? Maybe you are working hard at something, but it feels like you are moving too slowly, and you're still far from where you want to be. It can be frustrating, especially when you compare yourself to others who seem to be ahead of you. But God reminds us that growth is a process and every step forward matters. You are not others.

Just like when you are on a long road trip, it is important to take note of milestones along the way. These milestones remind you that you’re getting closer to your destination. The same thing happens in life, every small step, every lesson learned, and every obstacle overcome are markers of your growth. You might not be “there” yet, but you are closer than you were yesterday. As long as you are not stopping, you are moving.

The Bible instructs us not to despise small beginnings. God rejoices in your progress, no matter how small it seems. Sometimes we forget to celebrate how far we have come because we’re so focused on how far we still have to go. But just like a race has markers to show how far you have gone, your life has spiritual, emotional, and personal milestones that show your growth.

Celebrate your progress! Whether it's overcoming a bad habit, improving in school, or deepening your faith, take a moment to thank God for how far He’s brought you. Recognizing these moments can give you the encouragement and energy to keep moving forward.

Here are a few reflective questions

  • What are the areas of life where I have made progress recently?
  • What small victories can I celebrate today?

Let Us Pray:

Lord, thank You for every step forward, no matter how small. Help me to see the progress in my life and not be discouraged by how far I have to go. Give me the strength to keep moving forward and the joy to celebrate each victory along the way in Jesus name . Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God knows when I will get there.
  • I focus on progress not perfection.
  • I am kind to myself and acknowledge my efforts.

Take good care of yourself dear ones. I’ll see tomorrow.

04-DECEMBER-2024 - BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND

THE MAIN THEME: WHEN DO I GET THERE?

TITLE: BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Proverbs 29:18 (NIV)

Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.

Devotional:

Have you ever set out on a road trip without knowing the destination? It is somehow difficult to know which way to go or when you will get there if you don’t even know where “there” is. The same is true for life.

If you don't have a vision of where you want to go, how will you know what steps to take?

The Bible teaches us the importance of having a clear purpose and vision. One of the best ways to ensure you are on the right path is to "begin with the end in mind." This means envisioning your future, the person you want to become, and the life God has planned for you. When you focus on the end goal, what kind of person you want to be, what values you want to live by, and how you want to serve God and others, you can make better decisions in the present. Your choices today are like stepping stones that lead you toward that future.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  • What kind of person do I want to be in five or ten years?
  • What dreams has God placed on my heart?
  • What actions can I take today to start moving in that direction?

Let Us Pray:

Dear God, help me to see the bigger picture of my life. Give me the wisdom to make choices that align with the future You have planned for me. Guide me as I take each step, trusting that You are leading me toward a hopeful and prosperous future in Jesus name Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God knows when I will get there
  • I clearly visualize my goals and trust that I am capable of achieving them.
  • I am proactive in my journey, consistently making choices that lead me closer to my vision.
  • I envision a bright future and take steps to achieve them

Take good care of yourself. I’ll see you tomorrow.
