14-MARCH-2025 - SELF-CARE AIDS PERSONAL GROWTH

THE MAIN THEME: ACHIEVING PERSONAL GROWTH

TITLE: SELF-CARE AIDS PERSONAL GROWTH

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: 1 Corinthians 6:19
"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own."

Devotional:
Imagine a phone that is never charged. No matter how advanced or expensive it is, if it runs out of battery, it becomes useless. The same applies to you. When you neglect self-care—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—you limit your ability to grow, learn, and serve effectively.

Many people believe that self-care is selfish, but in reality, it is essential. Think of great leaders like Michelle Obama, who emphasises the importance of taking care of oneself to have the strength to impact others. Even Jesus took time away to rest and pray. If He, the Son of God, prioritised self-care, why shouldn’t we?

Self-care is more than just spa days or relaxing. It includes caring for your body through good nutrition and exercise, protecting your mind from negativity, managing stress, and deepening your relationship with God. Caring for yourself makes you more energised, focused, and prepared to pursue your purpose. Personal growth thrives in a well-nurtured mind and body.

Note that personal growth is not just about working hard; it’s also about taking care of yourself along the way. You can only give your best when you are at your best.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. How well do I care for myself physically, emotionally, and spiritually?
  2. Do I sometimes feel guilty for taking time to rest? Why?
  3. What are three self-care practices I can start implementing today?
  4. How does self-care help me to grow into the best version of myself?

Let us pray:
"Dear Lord, help me to see self-care as an important part of my personal growth. Teach me to rest, recharge, and care for my body, mind, and spirit so I can fulfill the purpose You have for me. Amen."

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  • I prioritise my well-being because I am valuable.
  • Taking care of myself allows me to grow and serve better.
  • I am worthy of rest, peace, and renewal.
  • My mind, body, and spirit are nurtured for greatness.

Prioritise self-care and watch yourself flourish! See you tomorrow!

13-MARCH-2025 - RESILIENCE AND PERSONAL GROWTH

THE MAIN THEME: ACHIEVING PERSONAL GROWTH

TITLE: RESILIENCE AND PERSONAL GROWTH

The quote for today’s devotional is: "Do not judge me by my success; judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again."

– Nelson Mandela

Devotional:
Life is full of unexpected twists—some days are smooth, while others feel like climbing a mountain in the rain. Resiliency makes the difference between success and failure—the ability to bounce back from setbacks, learn from them, and keep moving forward.

Think about Thomas Edison, the inventor of the lightbulb. He failed over a thousand times before finally getting it right. But instead of seeing failure as defeat, he saw it as a lesson, famously saying, “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.” His resilience led to one of the greatest inventions in history.

Personal growth requires resilience because growth isn’t always easy. It demands that we push past challenges, rejection, and disappointments. When we develop resilience, we don’t just survive hardships—we become stronger, wiser, and more prepared for future success.

Consider a seed planted in the soil. Before it can grow into a mighty tree, it faces darkness, pressure, and challenges underground. But it keeps pushing through the dirt until it reaches the sunlight. That’s resilience—persisting through difficulties until you flourish.

Regardless of your setbacks, always remember that resilience isn’t about avoiding failure but learning, adapting, and moving forward more potent than before.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. Can I think of a time when I overcame a challenge and grew from it?
  2. What are some obstacles in my life that require resilience right now?
  3. How can I develop a mindset that sees failure as a learning experience?
  4. What practical steps can I take to strengthen my resilience?

Let us pray:
"Dear Lord, grant me the strength to rise above challenges and the wisdom to learn from every experience. Help me develop resilience to grow into the person You have called me to be. May every setback prepare me for a greater comeback. Amen."

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  • I am stronger than my challenges.
  • Every setback is a setup for a greater comeback.
  • I embrace difficulties as opportunities for growth.
  • I will not give up—I am built for success.

Keep pushing, keep learning, and keep growing. See you tomorrow!

12-MARCH-2025 - PRAY THROUGH THE JOURNEY OF PERSONAL GROWTH

THE MAIN THEME: ACHIEVING PERSONAL GROWTH

TITLE: PRAY THROUGH THE JOURNEY OF PERSONAL GROWTH

The bible verses for today’s devotional are: Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) and 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NLT)

‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

And

pray continually

Devotional:

Izzy got several gifts on her 16th birthday, but none could compare to the new model of iPhone she received. She had waited for so long to own a phone. While she had hoped for a phone, she didn’t also want to pester her parents for it, thus it was such a joy to receive this unexpected gift. The next day, at school, she tried to use it, but it seemed faulty, when she looked closely, she noticed the Wi-Fi was not on. She realized that no matter how much potential the phone had, it was not very useful without a connection.

In a similar way, prayer is that connection we need to maximize the potential within us.  Despite our best intentions, God is the one with the blueprint for our lives and we will only fulfill all we were created to be and do when we locate that purpose in God through prayers. Prayers should not be the last resort- a trick in our hat that we pull out when faced with difficulties, rather it should be where we start and where we constantly anchor as we navigate the changes that come with personal growth.

Here are a few reflective questions:

-          How often do I stay connected to God through prayers?

-          What is one thing I can do as a reminder to spend more time in prayers?

Let Us Pray:

Dear God, thank You that I am not walking alone, help me connect more with you each day in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

-          I stay connected to God constantly.

-          I am enabled by His Spirit and my way is made easy and smooth.

Have a great day. See you tomorrow dear ones.

11-MARCH-2025 - PERSONAL GROWTH - PREPARE FOR THE UNEXPECTED

THE MAIN THEME: ACHIEVING PERSONAL GROWTH

TITLE: PERSONAL GROWTH: PREPARE FOR THE UNEXPECTED

The quote for today’s devotional is: Tough times never last, but tough people do."

– Robert H. Schuller

 Devotional:

Let’s face it, sometimes with all our preparation and calculations, life happens. Sometimes the impact can be localized as we face family troubles or unexpected disappointments; and at other times, like it was in the year 2020 with the Covid 19 pandemic, it could be global, and such major shifts can halt our plans.

While this does not mean that we live in a perpetual state of fear or expectation of ill, it means that we ought to develop our resilience muscle; we must have within us a doggedness that ensures that we can assess and recover from a setback because we know God is still in control. True personal growth means learning to trust God through unexpected changes.

Here are a few reflective questions:

-          Is there a recent setback that I have experienced?

-          How did I handle it or how could I have handled it better?

-          How can I trust God more in uncertain times?

 Let Us Pray:

Dear God, I know you are on the throne and always in control. Help me trust you in every situation in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  •       I know God has good thoughts towards me.
  •       I will trust God and not be afraid
  •       I grow strong through every challenge.

Do have a beautiful day. I’ll see you tomorrow.

10-MARCH-2025 - OVERCOMING THE FEAR OF FAILURE

THE MAIN THEME: ACHIEVING PERSONAL GROWTH

TITLE: OVERCOMING THE FEAR OF FAILURE

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline

Devotional:

Moses grew up in Pharaoh’s palace but fled Egypt after killing an Egyptian who was mistreating a Hebrew slave. Now, years later, he was living a quiet life as a shepherd when God appeared to him in a burning bush with a mission to go back to Egypt and lead the Israelites to freedom.

But Moses said to God, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”(Exodus 3:11 NIV)

He came up with one excuse after another, "What if they don’t believe me? I’m not a good speaker. Please send someone else!" I am not eloquent in speech, I even stammer! (Exodus 4:10-13). Moses was afraid of failing. He doubted himself and his abilities.

But God didn’t let Moses’ fear define his future. Instead of giving up on him, God reminded him:

"I have chosen you for this mission." (Exodus 3:10)

"I will be with you." (Exodus 3:12)

"I will give you the words to say." (Exodus 4:12)"

Moses decided to trust God and stepped into his calling. Because of his obedience, God performed miracles, and Moses became one of the greatest leaders in history.

Have you ever felt like Moses, afraid to try something new because you don’t want to fail?  Fear of failure can hold you back from becoming everything God created you to be.

You may not be perfect or have all the answers, trust that God is with you. Even if you fall, He will pick you up and guide you forward.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What is something I have been afraid to try because I fear failure?
  2. How does Moses’ story encourage me to trust God even when I feel unqualified?
  3. What would you do differently if you truly believed God was with you?

Let us pray:

Lord, sometimes I feel afraid, uncertain, and unqualified. But I know that You are with me, just as You were with Moses.  Give me the courage to step forward, knowing that You are with me to guide me. Amen."

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  1. I am not alone—God is with me in every challenge.
  2. I am capable because God strengthens me.
  3. I step forward in faith, knowing that God has already made a way for me.

Have an awesome day and see you tomorrow.
