09-FEBRUARY-2025 - IDENTIFYING YOUR STRENGTHS AND TALENTS

THE MAIN THEME: THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE

TITLE: IDENTIFYING YOUR STRENGTHS AND TALENTS

The bible verse for today’s devotional is:1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." –

Devotional:
Every person is uniquely gifted by God. I like the story of David, a shepherd boy overlooked by his family but chosen by God. His talent with a sling, honed during lonely days in the fields, became the tool God used to defeat Goliath. David’s strength wasn’t just his skill; it was his unwavering faith that God would use him for His glory.

Your strengths and talents may seem ordinary, but in God’s hands, they can accomplish extraordinary things. Identifying and using these gifts is an act of faith and obedience. Don’t compare your gifts to others; instead, seek God’s guidance on how to use them to serve His kingdom.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What “slings” has God placed in your hands that you may have overlooked?
  2. How can you use your talents to serve others and glorify God?
  3. Are you willing to trust God to use your strengths in ways you cannot yet imagine?

Let Us Pray:
Father, thank You for the unique gifts and talents You have given me. Help me to identify and develop them and show me how to use them for Your glory. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
  • My talents are a gift from God, and I will use them to fulfill His divine plan.

Do have a fulfilling day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!

08-FEBRUARY-2025 - CULTIVATING EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND EMPATHY

THE MAIN THEME: THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE

TITLE: CULTIVATING EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND EMPATHY

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Romans 12:15 (NIV)
"Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn."

Devotional:
Imagine being in a room full of people and sensing someone’s joy or pain without them saying a word. This ability comes from emotional intelligence and empathy—skills that help us understand and connect with others on a deeper level.

Think of Jesus as He interacted with people. He wept with Mary and Martha when Lazarus died and rejoiced at the centurion's faith. He listened, understood, and responded to people's emotions with compassion. Emotional intelligence involves being aware of our emotions, managing them effectively, and understanding the feelings of others.

Empathy goes a step further—it’s about stepping into someone else’s shoes, seeing the world through their eyes, and responding with care. In today’s fast-paced world, cultivating these qualities is vital for building meaningful relationships and making a positive impact. Start by pausing to listen, observing without judgment, and asking, "How can I help?" These small acts create ripples of kindness that can transform lives.

Emotional intelligence and empathy are powerful tools for connecting with others and spreading kindness. Start today by listening, observing, and acting with love. Your ability to understand and care for others makes the world a better place.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. How well do you manage your emotions in challenging situations?
  2. When was the last time you truly empathised with someone’s feelings?
  3. What steps can you take to understand the emotions of others better?
  4. How can Jesus’ example inspire you to show empathy daily?

Let us pray:
Lord, thank You for the gift of emotions and the ability to connect with others. Teach me to manage my feelings with wisdom and to empathise with those around me. Help me to be a source of comfort, kindness, and understanding in every situation. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  1. I am aware of my emotions and manage them wisely.
  2. I empathise with others and respond with kindness and understanding.
  3. I build meaningful connections by showing compassion and care.
  4. I am a source of light and comfort in the lives of those around me.

Have a thoughtful and compassionate day. See you tomorrow!

07-FEBRUARY-2025 - BUILDING RESILIENCE AND PERSEVERANCE

THE MAIN THEME:  THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE

TITLE: BUILDING RESILIENCE AND PERSEVERANCE

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: James 1:12 (NIV)
"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him"

Devotional:
Think of a seed planted in the soil. At first, it’s buried in darkness, surrounded by dirt. Yet, with time, water, and sunshine, the seed breaks through the surface, growing into a strong, flourishing plant. This is resilience—the ability to rise despite challenges—and perseverance, the determination to keep going even when it's tough.

Consider Nelson Mandela, who spent 27 years in prison fighting for freedom and equality in South Africa. Though the journey was long and filled with hardships, his resilience and perseverance changed his life and transformed a nation. He refused to let setbacks define him, remaining steadfast in his vision.

Life often presents its share of trials, from academic pressures to personal struggles. Building resilience means bouncing back after setbacks, and perseverance involves staying committed to your goals, even when the path is unclear. How do you do this? Trust in God, surround yourself with supportive people and learn from every challenge. Each step forward, no matter how small, is a victory.

Resilience and perseverance are like muscles—they grow stronger each time you use them. Keep pressing forward, knowing every step brings you closer to your purpose. Face today’s challenges with courage and trust that brighter days are ahead.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. How do you typically respond to challenges in your life?
  2. What is one example of a time you showed resilience?
  3. How can you stay focused on your goals, even when obstacles arise?
  4. Who inspires you to persevere through difficult times, and why?

Let us pray:
Lord, thank You for Your strength, which carries me through trials. Help me to build resilience in the face of challenges and to persevere toward the plans You have for me. Teach me to trust in Your guidance and never lose hope. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  • I am resilient and rise stronger after every challenge.
  • I persevere with determination and trust in God's plan for my life.
  • I see obstacles as opportunities for growth and learning.
  • With God by my side, I can overcome any trial.

Have a resilient and victorious day! See you tomorrow!

06-FEBRUARY-2025 - OVERCOMING NEGATIVE CRITICISM

THE MAIN THEME: THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE

TITLE: OVERCOMING NEGATIVE CRITICISM

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Galatians 1:10 (NIV)
"Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ."

Devotional:

Jayden loved drawing and often shared his art online. While most people praised his work, one day he received a nasty comment: “Your art isn’t even good. Why do you bother?” At first, the words stung, and Jayden considered giving up. But then he remembered David, who faced criticism from his brothers before fighting Goliath (1 Samuel 17:28-37). David didn’t let their words stop him; instead, he trusted in God’s purpose for his life. Inspired by David’s story, Jayden prayed for strength, kept drawing, and even used his art to share encouraging Bible verses.

Criticism can hurt, but when you focus on God’s opinion of you, you can overcome negativity and fulfill your purpose.

Here a few reflective questions:

  1. How do you handle criticism?
  2. Do you let it define you, or do you turn to God for your true identity?

Let us pray:

Lord, remind me that my worth is in You, not in what others say about me. Help me to rise above criticism and trust in Your plans for my life. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them

  • I am who God says I am.
  • Criticism doesn’t define me; God’s love and purpose do.

Have a positive thinking day ahead, dear ones. I’ll see you tomorrow.

05-FEBRUARY-2025 - MAKING WISE DECISIONS AMIDST PEER INFLUENCE

THE MAIN THEME: THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE

TITLE - MAKING WISE DECISIONS AMIDST PEER INFLUENCE

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Proverbs 9:10 (NIV)
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,  and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."

Devotional:
Ava’s friends wanted to skip class to hang out at the mall. She hesitated because she knew skipping school was wrong, but she didn’t want to seem uncool. Before making a decision, Ava remembered the story of Solomon, who asked God for wisdom instead of riches (1 Kings 3:5-14). She whispered a quick prayer for guidance. Inspired by Solomon’s choice, Ava decided to stay in school and encouraged her friends to do the same. While a few teased her, others admired her courage, and one even thanked her for standing firm.

When faced with peer pressure, seeking wisdom from God can give you the strength to make the right decision, even when it’s unpopular.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. When was the last time you felt pressured to make a decision?
  2. How can praying for wisdom help you handle similar situations?

Let us pray:

God, give me wisdom in every decision. Help me to stay true to You and not be influenced by the wrong voices. Amen

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them

  • I am guided by God’s wisdom.
  • I make decisions that honor Him, even when it’s hard.

Do have an amazing day. I’ll see you tomorrow.
