12-OCTOBER-2024 - LIVING ABOVE BOTTLENECKS

MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE: LIVING ABOVE BOTTLENECKS

The bible verse for today’s devotional is:  Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Devotional:
Life is full of challenges and obstacles that can sometimes make you feel stuck. These bottlenecks can be discouraging, but they don’t have to define your journey. When you place your hope in God, He gives you the strength to rise above these challenges and continue moving forward.

Let me tell you a story about  Nick Vujicic, a man born without arms and legs. Despite his physical limitations, Nick has become a world-renowned speaker, inspiring millions with his story of perseverance and faith. He lives above his bottlenecks by trusting in God and never giving up.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What bottlenecks am I currently facing in my life?
  2. How can I trust God more in these situations?
  3. What practical steps can I take to overcome these challenges?

Let Us Pray:
Dear Lord, help me to live above the bottlenecks in my life. Give me the strength and courage to overcome every obstacle, knowing that with You, I can do all things. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I know what I have
  • I will not be discouraged by life’s challenges. With God’s strength, I will rise above every bottleneck and continue to pursue my purpose.

Have a beautiful day overcoming bottlenecks. See you tomorrow.

11-OCTOBER-2024 - TALENT IS NOT ENOUGH

MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE: TALENT IS NOT ENOUGH

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: 2 Peter 1:5-6 (NIV)
“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness.”

Devotional:
Having talent is a wonderful gift, but talent alone is not enough to achieve greatness. It requires hard work, discipline, and character. The world is full of talented people who never reached their full potential because they relied solely on their abilities and neglected the other qualities necessary for success.

Consider the life of King Saul in the Bible. He was anointed as the first king of Israel, tall, handsome, and full of potential. But his lack of obedience and humility eventually led to his downfall. On the other hand, David, who was less physically impressive, became a great king because he combined his talent with faith, hard work, and a heart after God.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. Am I relying too much on my talent alone?
  2. What other qualities do I need to develop to complement my talents?
  3. How can I cultivate discipline and perseverance in my life?

Let Us Pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the talents You’ve given me. Help me to remember that talent is just one part of the equation. Give me the strength to develop the discipline, character, and perseverance needed to succeed. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them.

  • I know what I have
  • I understand that talent alone is not enough.
  • I will develop the discipline, character, and perseverance needed to fully utilize my gifts.

Have a beautiful day exhibiting more than your talents. See you tomorrow.

10-OCTOBER-2024 - YOUR COMPASS

THE MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE: YOUR COMPASS

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Psalm 119:105 (NIV)

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

Devotional:

A compass is a device that shows you which direction you need to go and can take you there without anyone leading you.  You must have faith that the compass has the capacity to show you the way. This signifies independence and willingness to push yourself out of your comfort zone and go at it alone, trusting that no matter what happens you will always find your way.

David in Psalm 119 acknowledged the word of God as a lamp to his feet and a light to his path. The word of God is our ultimate source of light and guidance, even in the darkest moments.  It illuminates our way.   Compass symbolizes direction which is what the word of God does and as a navigational tool, represents the pursuit of divine direction in our lives.

Getting to our destination requires that we trust our compass which is the word of God, wholeheartedly.

The word of God also serves as a moral compass, guided by the Holy Spirit, helps us in the choices we make and keeps us on the path of righteousness. Gal 5:16-17 encourages us to walk by the Spirit and not fulfill the desires of the flesh.

Today’s devotion reminds us to trust in God’s word, seek his guidance, rely on his light, walk in the spirit and fix our eyes on Jesus as our true north.  When we trust in the Lord in the light of his word, we can navigate the challenges and decisions we have to make while staying in close walk with Jesus

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1.       How often do I refer to my compass (word of God) on my life journey?
  2.       Do I really trust in my compass for direction and guidance?
  3.       In what ways can I foster my relationship with Christ as the WAY to my heavenly father?

Let us pray

Lord thank you for your word to me today, I embrace your word as the compass of my life. I trust in your word with all my heart, lead me in the way I should go in Jesus name Amen

Please say these words of affirmation: Say them mean, own them and live them

  • I know what I have.
  • God’s word is guiding me on my life’s journey
  • I will continuously walk in the path of righteousness
  • Thy word is a light unto my path

Do have a beautiful day. I’ll see you tomorrow

09-OCTOBER-2024 - RELATIONSHIPS - NURTURING MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS

THE MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE: RELATIONSHIPS: NURTURING MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Proverb 18:24 (NIV)

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Devotional:

It is God’s will that man live and flourish in relationships.  Man is never created to walk alone or be isolated. Jesus exemplified this when he chose his disciples and further had his three besties; in the person of Peter, James and John.

Friends are the family that you can choose.  When you are born into a family, you do not have a choice of who becomes your brother or sister.  However, you can choose your friends, and nurture meaningful connections with them.  Carefully look out for the following signs when cultivating meaningful relationships and ensure that you display all the characteristics too: reliability, sincere interest, mutual giving, consistent displays of loyalty, reciprocity, acceptance of imperfections, unwavering support, respect, shared values, honoring boundaries, investment of time and effort, forgiveness etc

In our text for the day, God is telling us to become that friend that we want to have in others. God's design for friendship is that we would serve one another by lifting each other up.

1 Thess. 5:11. Pro 17:17 tells us that a friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Having strong friendships positively impacts your mental health and social life.  True friends are there not only in the good times, but the bad ones as well.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1.     Are my friends a reflection of my values?
  2.       Am I a dependable and trustworthy friend?
  3.       Is my circle of friends empowering me to unlock my greatness or are they sabotaging my becoming all that God wants me to be?

Let us pray

Lord, thank you for your word to me today. I pray that the eyes of my understanding will be enlightened, that I may carefully and intentionally cultivate relationships that will foster my daily life with you, helping me to reach my full potential. Lord, enable me to shew myself friendly in Jesus name Amen

Please say these words of affirmation: Say them mean, own them and live them

  • I know what I have
  • I choose friends that align with my core values
  • I partner with my friends to advance God’s kingdom here on earth
  • I choose to love, respect, serve and be a source of motivation to my friends and I attract the same to myself

Do have an awesome day ahead. Take good care of yourself. I’ll see you tomorrow.

08-OCTOBER-2024 - EVERYONE HAS GOT VALUE

THE MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE:  EVERYONE HAS GOT VALUE

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Judges 6:12-16 (NIV)

When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian. The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?” Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.” The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.”

Devotional:

God created man with an intrinsic ability to solve humanity's problems. It is inherent in each and every one of us. When you doubt your potential, you live below God’s expectation and purpose for your life.

The angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon calling him a mighty man of valor. Meanwhile he was hiding from the Midianites. When the angel told him to go in this his might and save Israel, all he could think of were limitations (poverty and smallness) surrounding his upbringing.  However, God saw a mighty warrior and a savior. When God looks at you, He sees a savior and a solution provider. You should also see yourself as such.

Think also of the little boy with 5 loaves of bread and two fishes. He brought a solution when it was needed, most validating the fact that God has the power to multiply anything placed in his hands, including your talents and gifts.

David didn’t have to look like a warrior to defeat the giant.  He tapped into his skills and confidence of saving his sheep from the mouth of a lion, trusting that God will also deliver the giant into his hands.

Today, God wants us to believe and trust Him to use our talents as solutions to humanity's challenges.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. In what ways have I doubted what God called me?
  2. What are the challenges that sabotage my belief system, are they greater than God?
  3. In what ways can I deploy my talents to bring solutions to mankind?

Let us pray:

Dear Lord, thank you for your word to me today, forgive me for not realizing how great what you deposited in me is. I surrender my talents, passion, and giftings to you. Use me to birth solution to my generation in Jesus name Amen

Please say these words of affirmation: Say them mean, own them and live them

  • I know what I have
  • I am a solution to my world
  • My gift brings me on the table with kings
  • The world rejoices because I bring value to the table

Have a splendid day. Take good care of yourself. I’ll see you tomorrow.
